Mr. Britt was a native of Dublin, Bladen County, N.C., and was the son of Mrs. Estelle Cain Britt of Dublin and the late John Britt. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist church of Dublin. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Caroline Kirby Britt of Franklin; four daughters, Mrs. Melba E. Perry of Suffolk and Mrs. Flora Jean Ward, Mrs. Mary Olive Faison and Miss Myrtle Ann Britt, all of Franklin; three grandchildren; five brothers, Roy, Sam, Roger, Wilton and Nash Britt, all of Dublin; a half-brother, John Shaw of Lumberton, N.C.; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Vera Taylor, Mrs. Monnie King and Miss Mary Liza Britt, all of Dublin. The remains were taken on Saturday morning to the Butler Funeral Home in Dublin for funeral services on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in the Britt family cemetery near Dublin.
