EDWIN SAVAGE PATE DIES IN HOSPITAL

PEMBROKE – Edwin Savage Pate, 70, prominent Pembroke businessman, died about
7:30 p.m. Sunday in Robeson Memorial hospital. 

Mr. Pate was associated with Pate Supply Company, and was a member and elder of
Pembroke Presbyterian church. He was a native of Bladen county, son of the late
Edwin Arnold and Marian Alice Savage Pate.
 
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Frances L. Pate; a son, Rev. William Arnold Pate,
pastor of Third Presbyterian church of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren. 
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Philadelphus Presbyterian
church by his pastor, Rev. Vance Baucom, and Dr. R.F. Sloop, pastor of First
Presbyterian church of Lumberton. Burial will be in Philadelphus cemetery.
