Bladen County, NC - Will of Ignatious Flowers, 1793 Oct 25, 1793 page 359 Record of Wills In the Name of God "Amin" I Ignatious Flowers of Bladen County and state of North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of perfect and sound mind and memory. Thanks be to Almighty God. for the same calling unto mind the frailty of the body and knowing that all mankind has once to die do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament nothing doubting but that I shall receive fine and free remission of my past sins at the general resurrection by and through the merits of my Blessed Savior Jesus Christ. but first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and as for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as for my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of in manner and form following. Viz I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Goolsbury, Two hundred acres of land in the state of Georgia and County of Washington which land I purchased of Benjamin Eason. I also give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Uriah, Two hundred and fifty acres of land in the state of Georgia lying on the Big Ohoopy. Also one half of my stock of Cattle in Georgia now in the possession of John Grantham deducting five likely young Cows and calves out of said stock. I also give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Sarah, thirty pounds cash. I also do give and bequeath unto my belove daughter Susannah, Thirty pounds, cash. I do give and bequeath unto my beloved son Ignatious one Negro Boy named ben and three hundred acres of land entered in the office in my name, Joining Borders Stephen Goodwin and Goolsbury Flowers live-also two hundred and twenty acres of land east of Drownding Crick, including F Bluff part purchased pf Ander, Griffin and the other of AlexanderGoodwin. I do also give and bequeath unto my beloved son Richard Flowers one Negro girl named Mary also the plantation whereon I now live containing four hundred acres of land also fifty acres of land joining Joseph Nobles. lives on Long branch. and it is my negra man named Ned and one Negro named Phyllis and fifty head of hogs and thirty head of Horses be sold and the money equally divided among my beloved daughters Emma, Nancy, and Milly and Alice, and it is my Will that what household furniture and farming utensils remains after my decease be equally divided between the following children. Viz. Ignatious, Richard, Emma, Nancy, Milly, and Alice. I do give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Morgan the remaining half of my stock of Cattle in Georgia in the possession of John Grantham excepting the five cows and calves before deducted and it is my Will that the estate remains in the hands of the Executors until my beloved son Richard comes out of his minority and I do appoint sons Uriah Flowers and Ignatious Flowers Executors to this my last Will and testament.
