Bladen County, NC - Will of John Green, 1749 ~~~~~~~~~~ Last Will & Testament Jn Green, Senior Sept. 1749 Recorded in the North Carolina Secretary Office in B I, Page 100, Sept. 26, 1749 In the name of God amen this twenty eighth day of April Anno Dom 1749 I John Green being sick in body but of good and perfect memory thanks ___ and calling to remembrance the uncertain estate of this transitory life and that all ___when it shall please God to call To make and Declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following Imprimis I give and bequeath to my son James Green one Negro named Daniel Item I five and bequeath to my son James one hundred and fifty acres of land lying between John Eliss and James Mitchel Item I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Green three hundred acres of land Item I give and bequeath all my stock of cattle and horses and mares sheep and five Negroes and the plantation whereon I live to be equally divided among my wife and six children with all my household furniture to be equally divided amongst them Item I give and bequeath unto son John Green one shilling sterlling money of Great Britain Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah one shilling sterlling money of Great Britain and I hereby appoint my loving friends James Grange and James Carr and my beloved wife full and sole executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking disannulling and making void all former will and Bequeaths by me made and Declare that this only to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seall his Jn x Green Witness mark John Eliss John Stubbs James Jones David Morley North Carolina June Court 1749 Bladen County } This may certify that the last Will and Testament of John Green was proved in Open Court by the Oath of David Mosley and John Stubbs who swore that the said John Green was at the time of Executing the name was of Sound mind and that John Ellis and John Jones were subscribing Evidences both of ye same sound mind and memory and also James Carr one of the Executors named in the said Will qualified as an Executor Witness Thomas Robeson Clerk of the said Court the 20 th day of June 1749 Tomas Robeson Clk C ______________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
