All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Guy Potts http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004214 March 18, 2014, 3:11 pm Source: N C Archives Written: 1793 In the Name of God "Amen" I Duncan King of the County of Bladen and State of North Carolina being weak in body but of perfect strength of mind and disposing memory and calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die do constitute and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following Viz First and principally I give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my friends and Executors hereafter named and as to my worldly goods that it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bestow in manner and form following That is to say in three equal parts one third of all my land, Negroes and every other property I have I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Lydia the lands to return to my sons after her decease and the rest I have left her to be disposed of as she may think proper And the other two thirds of my estate I leave equally divided among all my children the land to be divided amongst my sons and the rest of the two thirds of my property above named I order it to be equally divided among all my sons and my daughters My just debts to be paid out of the several legacies above named and my youngest children that is not educated to be educated out of my wifes part of the estate I do hereby appoint and ordain my son Alexander King and William White to be Executors of this my last will and testament as faithful Executors and I hereby revoke all other wills by me made do confirm this to be my last will and testament In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the 24 day of June 1793 Duncan King {Seal} Witnesses Samuel Carman Jeremiah Bigford Mary (her x mark) White Additional Comments: Source: N.C.
