Lewis Jr. In the name of God Amen I Richard M. Lewis Sr. of the county of Bladen and State of North Carolina bing of sound and disposing mind blessed be God ofr the same. do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form followin this the 19th day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred and Fifty Six. 1st It is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. 2nd I give and bequeath to my wife Hannah Lewis for the term of her natural life the plantation and lands where I now reside. Including the land conveyed to me by Ephriam Hester, Samuel Johnson and all the land in the land side of my Mill Branch to David Hesters line. Also five cows and calves choose out of my stock , also twenty head of choice hogs, and my buggy and harness and two horses of her choice out of my stock, and all my household and kitchen furniture also a sufficiant quanity of corn and fodder to serve her on year. 3rd I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucy Ann Smith two dollars. 4th I give and bequeath to my son William S. Lewis his heirs and assigns the lands herin willed to his mother after her death. 5th I give and bequeath to my sons William S. lewis and Richard M. Lewis share and share alike all and sigularly all my property both real and personal which I have not given away by deed and all debts due me and all monies on hand. Together with all the perishable property devise bequeath to their said mother. Vig. After this said mother deceases the property not bequeathed to their mother they are to take possession as soon as I die. I constitute and appoint my sons William s. Lewis and Richard M. Lewis executors to this my last will and testament. Signed sealed published and declared by the said Richard M.
