This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Jason Bordeaux bordeaux@rconnect.com ==================================================================== WILL OF JEREMIAH NORMAN Will Book 1, Page 96, Bladen County, North Carolina In the name of God “Amen” I, Jeremiah Norman, being in usual health of body and of disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in form and manner following: 1st It is my wish to be decently buried and all my funeral charges paid with all my just debts. 2nd It is my wish that my three children in South Carolina may have all that is contained in their Grandfather R. Woodbury’s will with that portion passed over by Mr. John Woodbury as their agent and residing there for which I took J. Woodbury’s receipt October 20, 1831 only in this matter they settle with my estate for seventy—five dollars each for each Negro from the time they took possession of them until said Day, Chad, and Peter September Eighteen Hundred and thirty one, Joe and Adam January Eighteen hundred and thirty six as their service belonged to me of right and to no other person was entitled thereto. The reason I give them no more is therein I have done as much for them as I am able to do for these three here. 3rd It is my wish that my wife Mary Norman have her maintainance during her natural life out of what I have undisposed of. 4th That then my children by her Sarah Bailey, Thomas James and Caroline Emily Norman take all my property share and share alike my property real and personal. 5th I constitute and appoint my son Thomas James Norman Executor to this my last Will and Testament.
