WILL OF THOMAS SANDERS
Bladen, NC  1776
Deed Book 23, No. 6, Page 6,

To all people to whom these presents shall come I Thomas Sanders do send
greetings Know ye that I the said Thomas Sanders of Bladen Co. province of
N.C. being very sick & weak in body but of perfect mind and memory do hereby
for and in consideration fo the love and affection I have and do bear my
beloved wife Amilia Sanders have given and granted and by these presents
give grant and bequeath unto my said beloved wife all my real and personal
estate during her lifetime if she survives me, that is to say all my lands
tenements timbers money goods bills bonds amont furniture utensils
provisions stock of horses hogs cattle sheep poultry Negroes or any other
part or parcel to me belonging not here mentioned with the condition of her
paying one shilling sterling to each of these our children they having
received their full proportion of the house heretofore viz: Elizabeth
Boswell Elizabeth Ellis, Amili Morly, Thomas Browder, and Eley Sanders my
daughter-in-law These I hereby make over to my said wife as my free will and
gifts as above mentioned together with full power to dispose of the value of
twenty pounds proclamation money of said effects in whatever manner she
pleases. It is also my will that at her decease our beloved son Christopher
Sanders his heirs and successors shall be sole heirs to the whole estate
then to the fore. It is earnestly my request if God takes me out of this
world before next court in this county that my deed of gift may be recorded.

This deed was proved in court by the oath of Duncan Morrison and ordered to
be registered.
