WEST In the name of God "Amen" I William West of the County of Bladen and State of North Carolina planter being weakly in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. I give and bequeath unto Hannah West my dearly beloved wife all my movable property such as cattle horses hogs sheep household furniture &c only enough taken out of said property to satisfy my just debts and demands also the plantation where on I now live to remain hers during her lifetime in purpose of raising my youngest children and after Annah Wests death my lawful wife then said property to be equally divided or sold amongst my own children and their Grandchildren Annah and Hannah Jane and James West to share in equal part among themselves which division is to be made by honorable men I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament my wife Hannah West of all and singular property me------ and Tenements as above mentioned by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed. And I do hereby utterly disallow revokeand disa------ all and every other former Testament will Legacies bequests and executors by me in any wise before named ratified and bequested or confirmed this and no other to be my last weill and Testament.
