B.D. Applewhite To J. B. Wilkins
Know all men by these presents that I Bartley D. Applewhite of the County
of Brunswick and State aforesaid in consideration of One hundred and
Seventy one dollars to me in hand paid by Josiah B. Wilkins of the County
and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do by these
presents give, grant, bargain ____ and convey unto the said Josiah B.
Wilkins his heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land situate
lying and being in the county of Brunswick and bounded as follows, lying on
the south side of Livingston Creek containing One hundred and seventy one
acres more or less. Beginning at a pine running south 67 east fifty eight
poles to a white oak thence north 74 east fifty eight poles to a red oak
thence S. 5 west 138 poles to a sweet gum thence north 50 west 130 poles to
a stake thence north 28 east 132 poles to the beginning. To have and to
hold all the above described real estate with the appenentances to the said
Josiah B. Wilkins his heirs and assi!
gns to his and their ___ and behoof forever and I the said Bartley D.
Applewhite for self executors and administrators do covenate with the said
Josiah B. Wilkins, his heirs and assigns that I will and my heirs executors
and administrators shall warrant and defend the said pieces and parcels of
land hereunbefore mentioned and described to the said Josiah B. Wilkins his
heirs and assigns forever against the lawfull demans of all persons. In
testimony whereof I the said Bartley D. Applewhite have hereto sit my hand
and seal the 10th day of December in the year of our Lord One thousand
eight hundred and sixty one.
