Dec. 29, 1773    Cape Fear Mercury December 29, 1773
   STRAYED OR STOLEN from Fort Johnston, a Dun horse fourteen and a half hands 
high, black main (sic) and tail, well gated, both trots and paces. Whotever 
takes up said horse and delivers him to me shall receive a reward of 30 
shillings, if taken in Brunswick County and 50 shillings if taken up out of 
this County and is stolen. A Reward of ten pounds for taking up the thief to 
be paid on conviction by:
