Died

On her way from Wilmington to Hillsborough on Thursday the 23d ult. of 
pulmonary complaint with which she had been for some months afflicted, Mrs. 
Rebecca C. Moore, the wife of Alfred Moore, Esquire, of Brunswick County; 
leaving a husband, five infant daughters and many relations and friends to 
mourn her loss and to lament her early death. Mrs. Moore was about thirty 
years of age, a lady of polished and engaging manners and of commanding and 
cultivated talents. In her life, the wife, the mother, the friend and the 
companion, were displayed in their most endearing and engaging characters. She 
died as she lived, highly respected and deservedly beloved by all who knew 
her. Her relations and friends are the better enabled to submit to this 
afflictive dispensation of Providence from their belief that she looked with 
the eye of Faith to the mercy and merits of the Redeemer; and that in her 
Christian walk, it has been long her endeavor to fix and rest her hope on 
the "rock of ages."
