No 190 Page 62 WILL OF MILES POTTER In the name of God AMEN! Miles Potter of the state of North Caolina and of the County of Brunswick Being weak of Body But perfect in memory and having my understanding do make ordain constitute and appoint this my Last will and Testament and I do hearby disanul all former Will or Wills and declare this alone to be my Last Will and Testament. First I comend my soul to Almighty god from whence it came and my body to the grave to be buryed in Desent Christian burial at the Discretion of my Executors. Item I desire that my negro woman Cloe may serve my son Miles Potter the space, of two years from the day of my death and also her child Janey, and then to be freed if agreeable to the laws of the Country; if not consistent with the Law then to be sold at Vendue to the higest bidder, the money to be equally divided between my four sons Miles, James, John & Robert Potter, My son in law Abraham Skipper my daughter in law Margaret McMurray. Item, I desire Margaret McMurray may have my cow named Martha two years. Item, I desire Miles Potter may have my other cattle two years at the expiration of said two years the aforesaid cattle to be sold and the money equaly divided as before mentioned. Item, I desire James Potter may have my two red sows and one Barrow. Item, I desire Abraham Skipper may have one burrow & one sow. Item, I desire Miles Potter may have one burrow. Item, I desire my negro woman may have the two sows called hers. Item, I desire John Potter may have my gun. Item, I desire my Executors raise six Dollars at or before the expiration of two years to pay my debts it being a just estimate of what I owe. Item, I desire Miles Potter may discharge my note of hand of Eight Pounds fifteen shillings due Thomas Leonard I having paid him for a discharge of the same, and I do solemnly hereby appoint Miles Potter and John Potter Executors to this my Will and Testament for the faithfull fulfilling thereof.
