It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, JOHN WITZEL 
is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made for three successive weeks in the Raleigh Minerva, that 
unless the said Defendants appear at the next term of this Court to be held 
for the  County of Buncombe , on the 4th Monday in  April next   and  plead to 
this issue, judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to him. 

Witness, JOHN MILLER, Clerk of our Court, at office on the lst Monday in 
January, 1814.
