Oct. 5, 1838   Charlotte Journal October 5, 1838
   FIRE -- We learn from a gentleman, who came passenger in the Stage on 
Friday last from Asheville,, that the large and commodious building owner by 
MR. JOHN PATTON, Proprietor of the Warm Springs  (Buncombe County) as a house 
of entertainment was entirely consumed by fire on Wednesday lat. MR. PATTON'S 
loss is estimated at $20,000; the fire was occasioned by accident.
