A.D. Ledford, 54, of Dillingham Road, Route 1, Barnardsville, died Wednesday 
in an Asheville hospital after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident 
of Barnardsville, he was a prominent farmer and timberman, and was a son of 
Alma Banks Ledford of Barnardsville, and the late W.E. Ledford. Surviving, in 
addition to his mother, are his wife Deloyce Ayers Ledford; four daughters, 
Betty Ann Lackey, Sandra Kay Roberts and Janet Ledford of Barnardsville, and 
Brenda Gail Ledford of Asheville; three sons, Henry, David, and Rick Ledford 
of Barnardsville; three sisters, Bertha Hensley and Mae O’Donnell of 
Barnardsville, and Pearl Murphy of Johnson City, TN; two brothers, Johnny 
Ledford of Atlanta, GA, and Wayne Ledford of Orlando, FL; and five 
grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in West Funeral Home Chapel, 
Weaverville. The Revs. J.R. Plemmons, Richard Hipps, and Dan Carlton will 
officiate. Burial will be in West Memorial Park.
