The Semi-Weekly Messenger (Wilmington NC) 25 Oct 1898
Asheville Citizen: Minor Lytle was run over and killed yesterday afternoon by a
freight train a mile east of Arden. Lytle who was 60 years old was walking along
the track at a sharp curve and could not have been seen by the engineer until
the train was almost upon him.
