PHELPS *W.L. Phelps Phelps Services This Afternoon At 4 P. M. The remains of W.L. Phelps, who died Friday night at Oteen Hospital, Asheville, N. C., and was brought to Suffolk this morning, will be buried in Cedar Hill cemetery at four o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. H. J. Goodwin, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will conduct the service at the grave. Mr. Phelps was 42 years old and had served in the World War. Phelps, World War veteran who died at Oteen Government Hospital, Asheville, N, C., and whose body arrived in Suffolk Monday morning, were conducted by the Rev. H. G. Goodwin at 4 o’clock Monday afternoon at the grave in Cedar Hill cemetery. The casket was draped with a United States flag. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Active pallbearers were F. C. Rawles, Burwell Riddick, B. G. Carroll, F. O. Gardner, C. D. Jenkins, Carl Stanley, T. L. Salmon, J. W. Daughtrey. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers.
