The Ledger June 10, 1966

R. C. Songer, 60, a former resident of Columbus, died Friday at his residence in
Asheville, N.C., following a heart attack

Mr. Songer was a cloth inspector for the federal government and had lived in
North Carolina approximately 10 years.

Survivors include two sons, Reuben Songer and Roy Songer Jr., both of Columbus;
four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Geroy [Girior], Louisiana, and Mrs. Alice Stewart,
Mrs. Aileen Holland and Mrs. Nona [Mona] Brewer, all of Columbus; two brothers,
Burl Jack Songer, Phenix City and Fred Songer, Gadsden, Ala; and four sisters,
Mrs. Marie Taylor and Mrs. Maxine Greathouse, both of Augusta, and Mrs. Rhodo
Bailey and Mrs. Erie Rumsey, both of Sylacauga, Ala.

Funeral and burial will be in Asheville
