Buncombe County  Obit.
 
Clifton "Jim" Thorpe, 69 formerly of Woodfin, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996, in 
an Asheville hospital.
  A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late John Wesley 
and Lura Revis Thorpe. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard and 
Fred Thorpe, and sister, Thelma Thorpe Lee. He was a  Baptist.
  Surviving are his twin Brother, Clifford Thorpe of Asheville: several nieces 
and nephews. 
 Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Green Hills Cemetery. The Rev. 
W.C. Hensley will officiate.

Penland Funeral Home is in Charge of arrangements.
