BURKE COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Jack C. Burnett, 20 May 2004

MORGANTON - Jack C. Burnett, 74, of Lost Corner Road, died Thursday, 
May 20, 2004 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville. A native of Mitchell 
County, he was the son of the late Wilburn and Florence Williams Burnett, 
and husband of Myrtle Joyce Burnett. He was also preceded in death by 
three sisters and two brothers. He was a barber in Burke County for 33 
years.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pendley Burnett of the home; a daughter, 
Cynthia Gena Pritchard of Morganton; stepsons, Christopher Mark Wilson of 
Morganton, and Reginald Quinn Wilson of Valdese; a step-daughter, Melinda 
Gale Gurley of Valdese; a sister, Ruth Young of Mitchell County; one 
granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist 
Church. Revs. Dr. Steve Sells and Allan Barlow officiated. Burial followed 
in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at 
Sossoman Funeral Home in Morganton
