Pleasant Methodist church on Monday, Rev. Mr. Mallonee, pastor of the Morganton circuit, conducting the services. Mr. Cooper had been in feeble health for some time. He was 83 years of age and was the father of nine children, five of whom survive him - three sons and two daughters. His wife died several years ago. Mr. Cooper was a kind husband and father, was honest and upright and provided well for his household. His children have all made good citizens.
