BONNIE THOMAS DAVIS
HICKORY – Bonnie Thomas Davis, 78, formerly of Yancey County, died 
Tuesday, June 4, 2002. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and 
Pearl Woody Thomas; and wife of the late Fred W. Davis. She was also 
preceded in death by six brothers, Floyd, Jeter, Bill, Paul, Dan and 
Arvil Thomas. A member of First Assembly of God, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Lana Byrd of Kannapolis, and Anita 
Kiser of Hickory; three sons, Marty Davis of Hickory, Chester English 
of Boone, and Perry English of Dallas, GA; two sisters, Hattie Mae 
Geouge and Grace Allen, both of Burnsville; five brothers, Jim and 
Johnnie Thomas, both of Burnsville, Joe Thomas of Raleigh, Ben Thomas 
of Newland, and Sam Thomas of Bakersville; 10 grandchildren; and eight 
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God. 
Rev. Brian Campbell officiated. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. 
Friday at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 3:30 until the service hour Thursday at the church.
