Death of Mrs. Susan Lane,
Mrs. Susan A. Lane, relict of the late Ephraim Lane, died at the home of her 
son, mr. S.S. Lane, in Morganton, on Tuesday, the 28th inst., after a 
lingering illness, and was buried beside her husband, in Forest Hill cemetery, 
Wednesday afternoon, Rev. W. F. Womble conducting the services at the home and 
at the grave.
Mrs. Lane was one of the best of women and lived to a ripe old age—81 years.  
She leaves four children—three sons and one daughter—Messrs.  S.S., William 
and John Lane and Mrs. E.A. Green.  She was a Clontz before her marriage, a 
sister of Messrs. Alfonso and Nero Clontz.  
The relatives feel grateful for the many kindnesses shown during the illness 
and at the death of Mrs. Lane.
