LARENCE EDGAR "JIGGS" MCNEIL

MORGANTON - Larence Edgar "Jiggs" McNeil, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 
2002 at his home. He was the son of the late Edgar and Mayme Silvers 
McNeil. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a photographer 
and retired after more than 30 years as a typesetter for the News-Herald.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Vance McNeil of the home; a brother, 
Bill McNeil of Hanaham, SC; a sister, Mildred Hardison of Tampa, FL; 
one nephew; and several nieces.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made 
to Christ United Methodist Church, P.O. Drawer 38, Drexel, NC 28619, 
or Hospice of Burke County, P.O. Box 1029, Valdese, NC 28690. Heritage 
Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
