GEORGE PARSONS

MAGNOLIA - George Parsons, 83, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 in Aultman 
Hospital. He was the son of the late John and Viola Greene Parsons. He 
was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Retired from 
Diebold after 44 years, he was a member of Indian Run Christian Church, 
where he served as an elder, Sunday School teacher, choir member and 
founder of the junior church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, for 
which he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Elnore Meiser Parsons, of the home; 
two daughters, Ruth Grant of Columbus, and Faye Coles of Canton South; 
two sons, Dennis Parsons of Magnolia, and Dean Parsons of Wake Forest; 
one brother, Robert Parsons of Glen Ellyn, IL; two sisters, Mae Slagle 
of Bakersville, and Kate Gage of Johnson City, TN; 11 grandchildren; 
and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Indian Run Christian 
Church. Rev. Terry Bailey officiated. Burial was in Indian Run Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Kreighbaum-Sanders 
Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
