Prof. J.W. STACY was born in Burke Co., N.C., Nov. 8, 1830. In his 17th year 
he entered Emory and Henry College, where he graduated. He began to teach in 
1850 and during that year was married to Miss Margaret L. Allen of North 
Carolina.
