BURKE COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Dayton Jack Wilson, 2 Jun 2002 DAYTON JACK WILSON HICKORY – Dayton Jack Wilson, 84, formerly of Mitchell County, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at his residence. He was the son of the late Clyde and Pearl Greene Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a son, James (Jim) Wilson; grandson, Jeff Wilson; granddaughter, Valerie Wilson; and sister, Betty Gouge. A member of Grace, Truth, Missionary Baptist Church, he was retired from J.P. Stevens Company, and was a retired shoe cobbler. Survivors include his wife, Anna Cain Wilson, of the home; daughters, Sue Hobson of Bakersville, and Pat Danner and Cathie Johnson, both of Newton; a son, Raymond Wilson of Hickory; a brother, Kepler Wilson of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace, Truth, Missionary Baptist Church. Revs. Ronnie Gouge, Danny Silvers and Howard Wilson officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
