DENTON , J.R. DENTON, M.McK. DENTON, D.F. DENTON, J.W. DENTON, a Daughter POLLY M. DENTON, to have and to hold to their sole use and I also will and bequeath my personal property to my Wife POLLY DENTON to have and to hold during her life time (after my burial is paid) and to be equally divided among all the heirs of my estate. DENTON born 1829 died November 22, 1862 Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Virginia, Another Son PETER HENDERSON DENTON born @1836 died May 3, 1863 at Chancellorsville, Virginia) ----------------- State of North Carolina Burke County In the SS Probate Court A paper writing purporting to be the Last Will & Testament of PETER DENTON deceased is exhibited before me the undersigned Judge of Probate for sd. County by D.F. DENTON and the due execution ????? by the said PETER DENTON by the oath of A.D. ROSS & M.J. DENTON two subscribing witnesses thereto who being duly sworn doth depose & say each for himself deposeth & saith that he is a subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown herein purporting to be the Last Will & Testament of PETER DENTON dec’d that said PETER DENTON in the presence of this deponent subscribed his name at the end of sd paper writing which is now shown him as aforesaid and which bears date of the 24th day of September 1879. And the deponent further saith that the said PETER DENTON the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him & exhibited to be his Last Will & Testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of sd. Testator that at the said time when said Testator subscribed his name as aforesaid and at the time of the deponents subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto as aforesaid the said PETER DENTON was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a Will and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of this deponent.
