In the name of God Amen I John Durham of the County of Burk and State of North 

Carolina being very weak in bodey but of perfect mind and memory thankes be to 

God colling unto mind the mortality of my bodey and knowing that it is apointed 

for all men once to Die Do make and ordaine this my last Will and testement that 

is to say princepally(?) and first of all I give and recommend my soul in to the 

hand of God that gave it and my body I recomend to the Erth and as touching such 

worldly Estate wherwith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I Give 

[(and begu)crossed out] devise and dispose of the same in the following maner

and form that is to say in the first place I give to my beloved wife ^         
                                 full and 
                                 that is not herways disposed of
anun(?) inturupted possesion of my whole estate ^ and freely to enjoy it  
                      or widowhood                                             
                       
indorind(?)hur natrel life ^ and at hur Deth [(for the)crossed out] or maridge 

for the hol of it to be my daughters Mabels if she shall take good Cear of hur a 

mother and serporte and maintane hur Doring hur life or widohud and at hur Deth 

or marige for to pay to Nelley Day the sum of fortey one poundes alevin 
                      in hard money
shilinges and ten(?) pence ^ all so to Mastin Durham my rifel gun all so my

last will and testament and do herby uterley Disavow revoke and disanul all and

aney ways befor named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no 

other to be my last will and tetament in witness wharof I have hear unto set my 

hand and seal this ninth Day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
