   DIED, near Pontotoe, Miss., on the 24th ult, of congestive fever, COL. 
ALEXANDER HOPE COCHRAN of Cabarrus County, in the 29th year of his age, 
leaving a wife and one child and numeerous friends to mourn their loss, son of 
the late ROBERT B. COCHRAN of Cabarrus.
