Lowder, Sr. Obit Mar. 19, 1976 C.A. Lowder Sr. Clifford Alexander Lowder Sr., of 308 Westview St., died early today at Rowan Memorial Hospital following several years of declining health and a serious illness of five days. He was 70. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethany Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Wallace E. Morton will officiate and interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The body will remain at Whitley’s Funeral Home until taken to the church at the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Lowder had made his home here since 1924 and was a native of Stanly County. He was the son of Mrs. Lela Efird Lowder of Kannapolis and the late Nelson B. Lowder. Prior to his retirement in 1970 he was employed by Cannon Mills Co. Plant 7 in the Slasher Dept. His wife, Mrs. Effie Wise Lowder, died in 1960. Surviving in addition to his mother are one son, C.A. Lowder Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Doris L. Miller of Kannapolis; four sisters, Mrs. W. B. Moore, Mrs. Lula Emerson, Mrs. Sam Nash Jr. and Mrs. William Krimminger, all of Kannapolis; three brothers, Jason L. Lowder and Baxter E. Lowder, both of Kannapolis and Ernest B. Lowder of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren.
