Thompson Obit January 28, 1975 Deaths and Funerals E.J. Thompson Elvin Joseph "Buck" Thompson, died suddenly early today at his home, 701 Fairview St. He was 69. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at Centerview Baptist Church by the Rev. Clyde Hawkins and the Rev. Lloyd Garner. The body will remain at Lady’s Funeral Home and the family will receive friends there from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday. A native of Stanly County, Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Alex Thompson and Mrs. Frances Lowder Thompson. He was a retired textile employee and attended Centerview Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Absher Thompson; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Kilby of Concord; three sisters, Mrs. D.E. Fryer of Kannapolis, Mrs. Hattie Austin of Concord and Mrs. Frances Hopkins of Charlotte; one brother, Swink Thompson of Albemarle; two grandsons.
