Harris Mr. J.B. Harris of Poplar Tent died at Morganton on the evening of the 24th from paralysis of the brain. He was seized with the malady which ultimately resulted in his death last June and was sent to Morganton for treatment by Dr. Murphy, but that physician gave out no hope for his recovery. He gradually grew weaker until death resulted. Mr. Harris was the son of the late Char. J. Harris and a brother to Mr. Shakespeare Harris. He was twice married, his first wife who died about 9 years ago being a daughter of Col. L.L. Polk. His second wife survives him. Mr. Harris was one of the most prominent citizens of Cabarrus and weilded a great influence in that county. He was possessed of a most generous disposition and was a man of more than ordinary popularity not only in Mecklenburg, but in Cabarrus. He had many warm personal friends in Charlotte who will deeply regret to learn of his death. His body was buried at Poplar Tent church yard today.
