Obituary: Dr. N. M. Holton was born in Concord, N. C., November 17th ,1810, 
and died in Tazewell, Ga., October 28, 1867. He professed religion July, 1831, 
in Charlotte, No. Ca., at a union meeting held by Rev. Mr. Barnes of the 
Presbyterian Church and Rev. Mr. Furman of the Baptist Church, and joined the 
Presbyterian Church... became dissatisfied and removed to Lincoln co., Ga., 
where he joined the M. E. Church, under Rev. J. C. Simmons, at New Hope, 1834, 
moved to Talbotton, Ga., 1835.... He leaves a wife and three children to mourn 
his loss.
