Page 6-B Oct. 17, 1983 Mrs. Leather Kirk Mrs. Leather Hatley Hartman Kirk, 81, of 211 South Ridge Avenue, died Sunday at her home following three years of declining health. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, Concord, by Rev. John Kale and Rev. W.M. Anthony. Interment will follow in Oakboro Cemetery. The body will remain at Lady’s Funeral Home until taken to the church at the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. today. Mrs. Kirk was born June 10, 1902 in Stanly County, the daughter of the late Cornealus Hatley and Mrs. Sally Lowder Hatley. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Cannon Mills Company in the Sewing Room. Her husband, John L. Kirk, died in 1968. Surviving are two sons, Clyde N. Hartman of Elizabeth City and Loyd H. Hartman of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Christy of Kannapolis; three sisters, Miss Effie Hatley and Mrs. Nell Shelton, both of Albemarle and Mrs. Nora Shue of New London; seven grandchildren.
