Mrs. Mary G. Montgomery, daughter of Dr. J. B. Cottrell of Tenn., was born in 
Miltonsville, Anson co., N.C., on 31st March 1837, moved with her parents to 
Tenn. in 1857 where she resided until her marriage with Maj. W. J. Montgomery 
on 19th July 1859, when she returned to her native State and died in Concord, 
N. C. 18th Sept 1869. [eulogy...]
