He was born in Stanly County June 4, 1880, a son of the late John and Sarah Lowder Hurlocker. He was a member of Plyler Baptist Church and the Junior Order Friendship Council No. 82. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Kerr Street Baptist church with the Rev. Sam Leslie, Elder C.M. Mills and the Rev. Alfred Staley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery. The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. R.R. Williams, 743 Wilshire drive today at 4 p.m. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marie Taylor Hurlocker; one son, W.D. Hurlocker, of Mt. Pleasant; six daughters, Mrs. R.R. Williams and Mrs. George Hoke, both of Concord, Mrs. Toy Johnson of Kannapolis, Mrs. Ray Barkley of Statesville, Mrs. Harry Sorensen of Ludwigsburg, Germany and Mrs. E.I. Corder of Georgetown, Ky.; one brother, Marsh Hurlocker of Albemarle; tow sisters, Mrs. Henry Lowder and Mrs. Hoyle Hatley, both of Albemarle; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
