Barnhardt North Carolina, Cabarrus County Superior Court A paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of James E. H. Barnhart is produced in open Court by J M Barnhart one of the executors therein named for probate which is in the following words and figures to wit. Last will and testament of James E. H. Barnhart if Cabarrus County, N C. Know all men by these presence that I James E. H. Barnhart in Cabarrus County and State of North Carolina being in somewhat delicate health but of sound mind and memory do make this my will. It is my will that after my death and burial that all my just debts be paid and burying expenses that a suitable monument be put up at my grave. It is my will that my beloved wife Julia A. Barnhart have all of my property her life time. The land that I owned in Rowan County my executors may sell privately or public as they may think best it is known as the Thompson tract and Gold Hill. I will to Mary C Blackwelder one hundred dollars if she will stay with my wife until her death that is if she should marry I will her fifty dollars and a cow in place of the one hundred. It is my will after the death of my wife my estate goes to my brothers and sisters now living. If my wife Julian and Executors think that there is any necesicity to sell some of the loose or personal property they may do so public or private. The proceeds of said sails to be my wifes her life time as above directed. I do appoint my friend John F. Moose and Brother John M. Barnhardt as my Executors and advisers of my wife.
