I, SUSANNAH MEANS of the County of Cabarrus and State of North Carolina, being now of an advanced age, and knowing that it appointed unto all to die, do make, declare & publish this paper writing to be and contain my last will and testament. Item first I will my soul to my mercifull creator hoping that he will graciously receive it. Item 2nd I will and bequeath my two beds and furniture belonging to them, one to my daughter, MARGARET POTERSON [PATERSON?], and the other to my grand daughter, SUSSANAH BRANTLY, and I want the bed clothing equally dived betwen them excepting and subject to the following bequest. Item 3rd I will and bequeath to my daughter, ANNIE EARNHART, two sheets, a blanket, and a quilt and a pair of pillow slips to the sole and seperote use of my said daghter, ANNIE. Item 4th I will and bequeath that my wearing apparel be equally devided betwen my two daughters, MARGARET POTERSON/PATERSON and ANNIE EARNHART subject to the following bequest. Item 5th I will and bequeath one of my best dresses to my grand daughter, SUSSANAH BRANTLY, and I will and bequeath my little table to my grand daughter, SUSSANAH BRANTLY. Item 6th I will and bequeath my cubberd ware and cooking untensils to my said two daughters to be equally devided. Item 6th I will and bequeath my little wheel to my daughter, ANNIE, to her sole and seperote use. Item 7th The balance of my house furniture I will to be sold. Item 8th I will and bequeath any and all my grain of any discription to my son, JOHN MEANS. And I do nominate and appoint HENRY BRANTLY the executor of this my last will and testament.
