Goodman, Nancy - 1859 - Cabarrus County, NC - Wills Submitted for use in the USGenWeb Project Archives by Dan Manship In the name of God Amen. I Nancy Goodman of the County of Cabarrus and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say First That my Executor hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts whomsoever bring out of the recoverys that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my Estate Second I give and bequeath to my daughter Maryann two beds and bedsteads to be her entire property Third I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Catharine Goodman two beds and bedsteads to her entire property Fourth I give and bequeath to my son John Goodman provided he will stay and remain on the plantation whereon I now live, all the ballance of my personal property not heretofore mentioned one Sorrel Horse all my Stock of Cattle and all my Hogs all my Household and kitchen furniture and all my grain and growing crop which may be on hand at the time of my death provided he give his grandmother Mary Goodman the yearly support according to her husband Thomas Goodman's last will and testament. Now if my son John Goodman should leave this plantation any time before the death of his grandmother then this personal property shall not be his it shall then be sold by the Executor at Public dale all except the grain and stock, that shall be left for the support of the ballance of the family and the proceeds thereof shall be equally divided amongst all my children share and share alike. It is fully understood that this property heretofore mentioned shall not be sold at Publick or private sale providing my son John will stay on this plantation whereon I now live during his grandmothers lifetime only enough or so much as to pay my debts and expenses. Fifth I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend Paul Klutts my lawful Executor to execute this my last will and testament. I hereby revoke and utterly revoke now all other wills heretofore by me made in witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of June 1859. Moses Klutts (Jr.)?
