CABARRUS COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Elizabeth (Morrison) Russell, 31 Jul 1834 ----¤¤¤¤---- From the North Carolina State Archives: The Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth (Morrison) Russell was duly proven in open court by the oaths of the subscribing witnesses and the Executors herein named David M. Russell and William Lee Gingles who were qualified and Record ________. In the name of God Amen. I, Elizabeth Russell of Cabarrus County and State of North Carolina being through the goodness of God in a tolerable state of health of body and of sound mind and memory do constitute this to be my Last Will and testament and I devise it to be received by all as such. I most humbly bequeath my soul to God my maker praying his gracious acceptance thereof through the Lord Jesus Christ. I give and bequeath my body to the Earth from whence it was taken, as for my burial I devise it may be decent at the descretion of my executors hereinafter named. As to my worldly estate I will _______ by order that all my lawful debts be paid. Item, I will to my daughter Jenny Corzine fifty dollars to her and her heirs born of her body forever. Item, I will and bequeath to daughter Jane Tucker fifty dollars to her and her heirs born of her body forever. I will and bequeath to Elizabeth Holebrook, my daughter fifty dollars to her and the heirs born of her body forever. Item, I will to my daughter Caty White fifty dollars to her and the heirs born of her body forever. I will and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Corzine fifty dollars to her and the heirs born of her body forever. Item, I will and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Gingles fifty dollars to her and the heirs born of her body forever. Item, I will all my beds and bed furniture together with my wearing apparel to my daughters above named to them and the heirs born of their bodies forever to be equally divided amongst them. Item, I will to my grand daughter Dorcas Tucker my riding saddle to her and her heirs forever the remainder of my property after the legacies are all paid out to be sold and the money arising from the sale to be equally divdided amongst my ten children after my lawful debts and burial charges are paid. And I do hereby constitute and ordain my son David M. Russell and my son-in-law William L. Gingles to be my whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament and I hereby dis-allow and dis-annell all and every other former testiment and wills by me uttered or made and I do hereby ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and testament.
