Mr. Shore Ordained 1918 Rev. R. H. Shore Rev. Robert H. Shore, who died August 25, after a long illness, had been a Baptist minister for 43 years. Mr. Shore was ordained October 19, 1918. Rev. E. M. Gragg and Rev. D. M. Wheeler composed the Presbytery. Mr. Shore had served 15 or 20 churches in Watauga and Caldwell counties. He preached his first sermon at Middle Fork Baptist Church and his first pastorate was at Bethany Church in the Richlands. He was pastor of the John’s River Church at Glove for 17 years and Nelson’s Chapel, also in Caldwell for 15 years. Obituary #2 Rev. Mr. Shore Rites Sunday Robert H. Shore, Sr., 74, prominent minister of the Baptist Church in this area and a resident of Blowing Rock, died Friday at the Blowing Rock Hospital, after a long period of ailing health. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 o’clock at the Middle Fork Baptist Church. Rev. W. J. Cook, rev. Harold Hayes and Rev. Clyde Cornett were in charge of the rites and burial was in the Middle Fork cemetery. Survivors include the widow, three sons and three daughters: J. L., Burmah and Bobby Shore, Blowing Rock; Mrs. Mae Guarneri, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Mrs. Floy White, Charleston, W. Va.; Miss Belle Shore, Charlotte. There are six brothers and two sisters: Dave Shore, Lenoir; Claud, Fin and “Tom, Boone; William, Mountain City; Reeves, Blowing Rock; Mrs. Mattie Brown, Blowing Rock; Mrs. Edna Ashley, Boone.
