Storey, 35 Dies Of Pistol Wound At Home In Granite Falls Friday Granite Falls – Jesse R. Storey, 35, well-know Granite Falls dry cleaning plant operator died on Friday afternoon of a bullet wound which Caldwell County Corner Marshall Kincaid said was self-inflicted. No cause was given by the coroner, Deputy Sheriff Eugene T. Kirby or Granite Policeman T. C. Dula, for the man’s action, following their investigation. The incident took place at the bedroom of the Storey residence on Sunset avenue. His wife as reported to haven at home at the time. Investigating officers said that the bullet from the pistol pierced the man’s head and embedded itself in the wall of the room where it was removed by the coroner. Funeral services for Storey have been set for 2 o’clock on Sunday afternoon at Mackie Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Kings Creek cemetery. A native of Watauga county he was the son of W. C. and Betty Harrison Storey. Surviving in addition to the parents are his wife, Mrs. Sadie Kirby; two sons, Gary and Gerald Kirby, two sisters, Mrs. Vaughn Evanson of Boone and Mrs. Carney Storey of Blowing Rock; and seven brothers, Alvin of Banner Elk, Spencer and Carson, both of Blowing Rock; Grayson of Morganton and Olen Ralph and Ronald Storey, all of Lenoir.
