Gregory was head of the produce department for the New England division of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., with headquarters in Boston, on his retirement in January 1964. He had been with the company 43 years. He was a member of Churchland Baptist Church, the Algonquin Club of Boston and the Ancient and Honorable Society of Boston. He was a son of the late Mark Robert Gregory and Mrs. Adelaide Upton Gregory of Camden County, N.C., and a native of Currituck County, N.C. He is survived by widow, Mrs. Hope McKee Gregory, two daughters, Mrs. Douglas W. Evans of Needham, Mass., and Mrs. E. Louis Meteger of York, Pa.,; three sons, Thomas R. Gregory Jr., of Boston, Mark Robert Gregory of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and John Richard Gregory of Suffolk; four sisters, Mrs. Elma Wright of Jarvisburg, N.C., Mrs. Muriel Wilson and Mrs. Ruth Hathaway of Chesapeake and Mrs. Alice Carlton of Roanoke; three brothers, John U. Gregory of Nansemond County, William Kelly Gregory of Baltimore and Carlton McArthur Gregory of Millburn, N.J. and 10 grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. William E. Thomsen, Jr. of Glebe Episcopal Church, Driver. Burial will be in Holly Lawn.
