PARROTT of Lenoir Co., NC Carteret Co. & Lenoir Co., NC 18 Dec. 1859 Bk. BB, p. 920 State of North Carolina Carteret County Know all men by these presents that I, Benjamin STATON of the County and State above written do bargain and sell & assign unto John A. PARROTT of the County of Lenoir and and same state for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Thousand & five hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and by these presents - I have bargained and sold and assigned unto the said John A. PARROTT his heirs and assigns all my Estate right title and interest in and to the following parcels of land to wit: a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being on the west side of North River in Carteret County beginning on the west side of said river then due west into the woods two hundred and forty six poles then South fifty five degrees west one hundred and sixty eight poles then due East three hundred & ninety six poles to the said river then down said river to the last station : also one other parcel or tract of land situated in the aforesaid county being the eleven twelfth part of Richard HATCH ’S patent; patented the 18th day of December 1790 on the West side of North River a more particular description of which parcel of land and and also of the foregoing described parcel may be had by experience to a deed of bargain & sale to me executed by J. P. NEVILL bearing date 20th day of February A. D. 1856; also all my Estate in and to a parcel of land on the west side of North River containing one hundred and twenty acres more or less; which said parcel I purchased form Thomas DUDLEY and Henry DUDLEY a description of which may be had by reference to two seperate deeds bearing date 24th day of March A.D. 1856, executed to me the one by said Thomas DUDLEY the other by Henry DUDLEY; also all my stock, crop & provisions, farming implements, all horses, cows, cattle, sheep, and other property on said lands or plantations appurtenant to the same ( except my negroes, household, kitchen furniture.) To have and to hold the aforesaid lands with all the improvements- thereon all appurtenances rights ways& privileges in as full estate, manner and condition as I myself have unto him the said John A. PARROTT, his heirs and assigns. In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my seal subscribed my name at Beaufort, December 18th, A.D. Eighteen Hundred and fifty nine. Benjamin STATON (Seal) Signed, Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Joe PENDER Wm. B. DUNCAN North Carolina Carteret County Office of Clerk of the County Court Dec. 25th, 1865. The execution of the forgoing deed is proved before me according to law, by the oath and examination of William B. DUNCAN, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto.
