Nathaniel Taylor to the Town of Beaufort, 1731

To all Christian people to whom these presents shall come I Nath’l Taylor sends
greeting in our Lord God everlasting. Know I Nath’l Taylor proprietor of the town 
of Beaufort and Precinct of Carteret County of Bath and province of North Carolina 
do by and with the consent of Rich’d Rustull Senr. and Joseph Bell Esq’r Commissioners 
of ye sd town for in consideration of the great need and necessity the inhabitants of 
sd town and precinct have of a burying ground have given and granted and by these 
presents do freely clearly and absolutely give and grant to the inhabitants aforesd 
and their heirs one certain lot of land lying in the town of Beaufort for a burying 
place for ever.

To have and to hold all the sd half acre or lot of land aforesd unto the sd inhabitants 
as a property for a burying place for ever absolutely without any manner of condition 
also the sd Nath’l Taylor, Rich’d Rustull Senr, Joseph Bell aforesd have and doe for 
our selves our heirs and successors absolutely give and grant the aforesd lot of land.

In witness whereof we have hereunto sett our hands and seals 8th day Sept 1731.
