Carteret County, NC - Will of Samuel Maulben, 1791 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aug. 5th 1791 Record of Wills Book D, page 278 I lend to my son-in-law, Christopher Hawling until the year 1800, 89 acres of land which belongs to my son Peter after the year 1800, which land is to be peacably given up to him after the above mentioned term and the above mentioned Hawling is not to rent, leave or give liberty to any person to pillage or cut wood thereon, which land lies as follows: running from the above mentioned pine Williston's line to a gum in Mulberry Branch and running said line to a pine near the head of Mulberry Branch in the eastward side of said branch from thence to a pine to the eastward and norward of Bevinld Branch from thence the various courses of the marked trees to three marked pines, standing pretty close together and from the three range in pines to my out outbounds. The remaining part of my lands I give to my son-in-law, Christopher Howling, which is 89 acres And in case of the death of my son Peter before he should become of age, his part of the lands is to be equally divided between my two sons, Josephus Mulbin and Christopher Howling [sic] I give to my daughter, Keronhappoch, the second best bed, etc It is my desire in case of the death of my two sons, Josephus and Peter before they should come of age that their part of the land should be equally divided between my two daughters, Elizabeth and Keronhappoch, or in case of their deaths without heir that their land given by me should return to my two daughters Exhibit 27 Collection: Delia HYATT Papers 1710; 1736-1968 Lenoir County, N.C.
