In the name of God Amen:  I Abraham Mitchell of Cartright (Carteret) County in
the Provine of North Carolina, Cooper being sick and week in body though  of
Perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the unsertanty of this life am
wiling to put my house in order before I go home and be no more: first I give
my Soule to god that gave it furst to me beseiching almighty god to reserueit
it into mersy in and through the merits of Jesus Christ and my body to the
Earth to be Desently and in a Christian Like maner buryed and as for my wordly
Estate I give as follos.

Item:   I leeve with my Loving wife all the Rest of my breeding cows for the
Cumfort and support of her during her naterall Life and after to my heirs if my
wife should have one by me otherwise if no heir to be Equielly Devided betwixt
my thre brothers and my sister.

Item:   I give to my wife two Stears.

Item:   I give to my wife one mare it being a gray mare Dockt also one bed and
furnetuer one Desk also the bedstid also two Pots and one citel one trammell
one frying pan also the things Last mentioned if my wife should have no heir by
me the same to be equelly Devided between my three brothers and my Sister as
afore said after my wife Deses.

Item:   I give all my coopers tooles to my brother Anthony also one mare and
all my waring cloaths and buckels and Shous--Item: I give to my brother John
one hundered and twenty acres of Land Lying in Onslow County also one mare also
onebed and furnetuer also a gune and halfe my hogs and one sheepe and one
Steare one Chist and all my cooper timber and all my Powder and Shot and one
Pottnamell and a Pare of betel rigns and a pair of ________? and one weeking
hoe and horserope and a barell of Rum he making my wife Sum Satisfaction for
her trouble and one grindstone also my brydel and Sadel.

Item:   I give to my brother George one young horse.

Item:   I give to my sister Rebeceh one mare also twelve pounds in the hand of
Thos. Houston. I give to my brother John also Seven pounds _______? Stirlling
in the hands of Ruband Pits to John Mitchell.

Item:   I give my mill a pare of Stirland fiertongs Small Pot Candel Stick one
ew Sheep halfe Ye hops tenn pounds by Jove Hunter Six poiunds by Wm. Dudley to
my Loving wife also two axes and one hoe.

Item:   I give to my father one bay horse cald Dick and all ye Rest of my
Estate not alredy given to be Devided between my three brothers and Sister. I
give to my brother John three chares the Rest of my Estate to be Equelly
Devided between my wife and my brother John Mitchell and I Due appoynt John
Mitchell and Ezekell Hunter my Lawfull Executors of this my Last will and
testament in witnes where of I have heare into Sat my hand and fixed my seal
this 30th Day of December  in the year of our Lord Christ 1746.
