Will of JACOB SHEPARD

To my wife, SARAH, in lieu of dower, 200 pounds. To my son, JOHN, a house in 
New Bern where Mr. INCH lives; to my son, WILLIAM, a house IN New Bern 
occupied by DAVID BARROW; to my youngest son, now an infant to be baptised 
RICHARD, a house in Beaufort purchased of JOSEPH; 320 ACRES called White Hall 
on Bogue Sound; and 100 acres called Mt. Pleasant on the south side of Newport 
River. Money is to be invested in slaves and their increase is to be divided 
among my three daughters, HANNAH, SARAH and ANN (under 16). Executors: 
Brothers JOHN AND SHEPARD SHEPARD. Witnesses: JOSEPH BELL JR.; HANNAH BELL.
